Because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and Governor Hogan's March 23, 2020 executive order, our physical office will be closed for most services until the order is lifted or modified. Our office will be open to perform emergency and other necessary services for our clients. Our phones will be answered by a person during most business hours and all staff will be regularly checking email. If it becomes necessary for you to meet with an attorney while the executive order is in effect, you will have to attend the meeting alone and will be expected to observe social distancing protocols. We thank you for your patience as we continue to work together to navigate this situation and keep everyone safe.
On March 25, 2020, the Maryland judiciary issued an administrative order closing district and circuit courts through May 1, 2020 for all but emergency matters, such as protective order petitions and bail reviews. If you have a scheduled court date in April, call the attorney handling the matter to find out the status of your case. Some courts are conducting scheduling and settlement conferences by telephone and teleconference.
The closing of courts does not stay pending litigation. This means that motions, discovery, expert designation and other deadlines in your case still apply.
